Carol Stephen & Her Take On TweetChats

Carol Stephen & Her Take On TweetChats

Social Media, Tech, Top of Mind
About year ago now I was invited to my first tweetchat. I had no idea what one was or what it was going to be like. I am thankful for that invite from Bridget Willard because it's a FANTASTIC resource! I have learned so much from participating in a tweetchat. I have even co-hosted one by providing the topic and questions. It's a great way to build relationships and learn from one another. (more…)

Why Should You Go To WordCamp

Events, Tech, Top of Mind, Websites, WordPress
It's WordCamp season! Fall brings cooler weather, the changing of the leaves, pumpkin spice everything, and WordCamps! I love WordCamp season and wished I had the money and the time to travel to all the WordCamps here in the US and abroad. What Is A WordCamp A WordCamp is a gathering of the WordPress community organized by local volunteers. They bring us together to meet each other in person, learn new ways to use WordPress, and even how to use it as part of your business. It brings all walks of life together usually over a weekend to listen to presenters, network, and sometimes even to contribute. (more…)

How Did I Get Here

Random, Social Media, Tech, Top of Mind, Uncategorized, Websites, WordPress
It's been a long winding road as an adult to make money and keep my artsy side alive. How did I get here? How It Began I found web development purely by accident. I was working at Sun Microsystems as an administrator. Managing schedules, creating presentations, event planning etc... when my manager challenged me to find something new to add to my skill sets. Luckily for me Sun had lot's of internal classes and at the time the internet had come into play. (more…)

Just like the web (my other professional side) social media is constantly changing and evolving. However, I do think there are some REALLY smart people out there that are doing social media right and you can learn from each and every one of them! (more…)

Life After My Whole30 Challenge

Life After My Whole30 Challenge

Food, Top of Mind, Whole 30
It's been almost 2 months since my Whole30 challenge ended and I have been amazed about the impact it has had on me. Life after my Whole30 challenge has been very interesting! In the beginning when I started the challenge I didn't know if I could really live without my favorite foods. Almost 60 days later I have gone through the reintroduction process and have found I really don't miss how I was eating prior to the challenge. (more…)

Convenience Factor

Convenience Factor

Food, Random, Top of Mind, Whole 30
Back in March I took on the Whole30 challenge and it REALLY changed my perspective on food! It also got me to thinking about what I am now calling the "Convenience Factor". All my life I can remember eating food that was either in a box, can, frozen, or fast food. What do all of these have in common? The "Convenience Factor". It's very easy to grab food that is already made for you and all you have to do is heat it up or just unwrap it. I was raised this way. (more…)

Drawing A Blank

Drawing A Blank

Random, Top of Mind
I am having a hard time blogging recently. My last post was March 31st and it was so exciting to talk about my Whole30 accomplishment! Since then there has been a lot of things going on and no time to sit down and write about any of it. When I did try to write yesterday I was drawing a blank! It's frustrating when you have nothing to write about but you know you do! So, this post is going to be a mish mash of things to help me out of the funk and stop drawing a blank. (more…)
