I Am A Doodler

I am a doodler! I have always been a doodler! I doodle all the time! If I have a pen in my hand you can bet that I am doodling. It doesn’t mean I’m not paying attention, it’s just what I need to do when I have a pen and paper in front of me. I need to let my artistic side out.

When I Was A Kid

When I was growing up I was an only child for the first 10 years of my life. I spent a lot of time alone when I was growing up. As an only child of divorced parents I was expected to keep myself entertained. I spent a lot of time coloring, drawing, and playing with my Spirograph.

I love art! I spent lot’s of time admiring my Crayola Crayons in their beautiful box and drawing and coloring pictures. I took art classes in school and learned about shading, perspective, and the variety of mediums you can use to create art.

I think as a kid I always saw myself as growing up and doing something artsy as a grown up.

Keeping My Artsy Side Alive

In all of my meetings I have a notebook. I take notes on what’s going on but I also doodle. It helps me concentrate on what’s going on. Most people see me doodling and think that I’m distracted. I’ve even had a manager tell me to stop doodling in a meeting.

Zenspirations

This past Christmas my husband Eric gave me the BEST gift ever! It was a book called Zenspirations and a notebook. I LOVE this book! It is helping me take time to create and be artistic. It’s a book on doodling! This book helps me find that creative part of me that I lose sometimes when I am so focused on paying bills, finding a job, working on freelance projects, and just day to day life.

Doodling

So, here’s to the doodlers of the world! Let your creative side out and remember that artsy side of you! Share your doodles with me and I will share mine!
