Why Should You Go To WordCamp

It’s WordCamp season! Fall brings cooler weather, the changing of the leaves, pumpkin spice everything, and WordCamps! I love WordCamp season and wished I had the money and the time to travel to all the WordCamps here in the US and abroad.

What Is A WordCamp

A WordCamp is a gathering of the WordPress community organized by local volunteers. They bring us together to meet each other in person, learn new ways to use WordPress, and even how to use it as part of your business. It brings all walks of life together usually over a weekend to listen to presenters, network, and sometimes even to contribute.

Why Should You Go To WordCamp

You don’t have to be super technical to go to WordCamp. If you are using WordPress for your website it’s a great way to learn what others are doing and even get some help at the Happiness Bar!

When I went to my first WordCamp I had hardly used WordPress at all at that point. After the WordCamp was over I was more excited about WordPress and ready to start creating websites. I definitely went home excited and ready to learn as much as I could to enable me to use WordPress to create websites for the small businesses in my community.

I go to WordCamps to learn and meet people in the community. I also volunteer at WordCamps as often as possible. I am proud to say I have contributed to the WordPress community by volunteering my time and my skills to help with local WordCamps near me.

Why should you go to WordCamp? The first word that comes to mind is because it’s AWESOME! The ticket price is reasonable, the people are great, and you get to learn new things about WordPress. I highly recommend you check one out for yourself!
