Pacific Northwest Weather Is No Joke

So living in Truckee and in the Sierra mountains I thought I knew what cold was. Think again! The Pacific Northwest weather is no joke! Now that I have lived here over 6 months and we are in the middle of the winter weather I have a better understanding about what it means to live in the Pacific Northwest and it's weather. I know that I can't really say I understand ALL about the weather up here but I do understand why Columbia Sportswear and REI are based up here in the Pacific Northwest! (more…)

2015 A Year In Review

It's now January and we have celebrated Christmas and rang the New Year in and I wanted to reflect on 2015. 2015 was probably one of the craziest years for myself and my husband but really it was par for the course. Our journey through this life together is never dull and there is always something new on the horizon for us. When I say I want to "Live - Love - Laugh" I really mean it! Samson & Squirrel Season

A Little Background Samson is our 5 1/2 year old Labrador we adopted in 2013 when we were still living in Truckee. He is our special needs puppy and we love him dearly! Samson followed our other Labrador Buddy and our daughter home one day during a walk. When we called to let his owner know that he was at our house we found out that Samson's owner was looking for a new home for him. We fell in love with Samson immediately and decided to have some play dates to make sure that he would get a long with Buddy. After a couple of play dates and sleep overs we decided to adopt him! In my previous post "How Portland Became A Place We Call Home" I mention that we moved from Truckee California. Living in Truckee California had been a dream of ours for quite some time. It became a reality when I was hired by Renown Health to work on their web team in the Marketing department. Name 99 Things You Love In 10 Minutes

I was on Twitter today and came across a tweet from @BobWP that said "A perfect post to start this week > Can You Name 99 Things You Love in 10 Minutes?". I clicked on the link to @BobWP's post to find this great idea! Make a list of the 99 things you love and try to do it in 10 minutes! It is a pretty timely challenge since it can also be interpreted in the you are thankful or grateful for as well! Needless to say I have taken the challenge! Unfortunately I only got to 76 things on my list in 10 minutes but I didn't stop there! No way, I continued on to 99! Some of the things are trivial but some of them are VERY important.…

QOTD: The Shortest Answer Is Doing

Here goes my first blog post for this website! I thought it would be appropriate to kick this thing off with a QOTD (QOTD = Quote of the Day). I saw the quote "The shortest answer is doing." by George Herbert today on the Forbes website. It really spoke to me because I am someone who likes to get things done! I am the person someone comes to and says I need this or I don't know how this works and the next thing you know I am researching the problem or connecting with people that I know have the answer if I don't know already.
